Unless something goes drastically wrong, this will be the last update of the year. Two thousand and three was quite fun wasn't it? I'm sitting here trying to think of what I've done which is worthy of mentioning but it's kind of harder than I thought. BSM had a very successful year, with a couple of our releases now approaching sell out status, so on that front it's all good. I slept in a phone box with two other people one cold night in Oxford. A definite proud moment there. Um, I learnt to cut my own hair as I don't believe in hairdressers, oh and I just bought 25m of buble wrap off Ebay. Just trying to find someone small enough and convince them that being wrapped up and pushed down the stairs is a good plan. I could work out how many litres of vodka and Hollywood white wine I've consumed but that's likely to make me feel very sick.

So looking forward...

2004 starts with a bang in every sense. We have no less than three 7inches coming out very soon, from Written From Negative, and splits from Stories and Comets and Face For Radio, and The Dudley Corporation and Querelle. All of em will have very indie DIY artwork and are gonna be magic. On a non-BSM note, January sees the mighty Brand New and the soon to be mighty Straylight Run bringing the party. I'm going sober for the whole of the second month. xfebruaryx will be spent with a black cross on the back of my hand every single day. I urge everyone to join me, it's good for the sole. In March I have plans to hire a barge and party hard around the Thames. Oh and the installation of my new drinks cabinet will be complete, along with optics, coctail shakers, decanters, flashing fairy lights and Night Fever playing when you open it. Who the hell has a higher social standing than me?!

I'm gonna stop babbling about complete bull that no one cares about and get on with what I wanted to say... New BSM t-shirts are here and very pretty they are too. Hardcore small in nightly black with pink printing. Get em while they're still cool.

Christmas party on tuesday (23rd) at The Verge in London. Everyone should represent. If you don't, expect to die by the sword

Happy Christmas

07/12/03
Two updates in less than a week? Something must be wrong!

And it is. The Remarkable Rocket have been forced to pull out of the Christmas party, due to family commitments, so add that to the unfortunate demise of The Next Autumn Soundtrack, and things don't look. However, it's Christmas and by the laws of old romantic snow filled films with big bearded men, all will be alright on the night. The lineup is now...

My Awesome Compilation
FogDonkey
Pictures Paint Words
The Medicine Kiss (Joe TNAS)

The cheerleaders have been gathered and will be briefed over the next week. The DJs are currently stock piling their favourite CDs, along with a few chosen classics, and a crack team of designers are working around the clock, scratching their heads as hard as they can, trying to ensure this is THE party of this Christmas season. Remember, it's at The Verge on 23rd December, doors are at 8pm and it only costs £4. If you have a bad time I will refund your money and let you kick me in the head. Can't say fairer than that now can I?

PS. The associates pages has been updated. Check it out. It's mighty impressive

Two thousand and three is going to see the most glorious festive season ever known to man. Or to me anyway. We're talking shopping trips with hats and scarves aplenty, skating on outdoor ice rinks, Home Alone marathon's, advent calendar's, carol singing, visiting Santa in his grotto, partying hard to Cliff Richard and Slade, as well as following and crushing every other cliche and stereotype ever thought of! If only it would stop fucking raining. I swear that's four days straight now. If it's still going this time next week work will commence on the first BSM arc. Anyone with good carpentry skills, send me your CV.

Now on with the proper stuff. Here's a new entry in the top five shittest pieces of news ever... The Next Autumn Soundtrack have split. This is the bands statement:

After one year, eight months, five days, twenty-three hours and thirty-five minutes (approx.) The Next Autumn Soundtrack is done. We've spent some of the best seconds of our lives in this band, making music with people we love and taking it out to people who we loved for showing up! But we know when its time to move on, the satisfaction and will is there but not to the extent that it once was, and we all have other ideas about what we want to do with our time...
We just wanted a chance to say thankyou to all those people we've mentioned who came to a show (even if they did talk in the quiet bits, heh!), to anybody who decided it was worth the trouble to put us on or the cost of a record/saying hello, to anybody who wrote anything about us (good or bad!), to The Killerest Expression, My Awesome Compilation and Jeniferever for three amazing tours that we will never forget, to anybody who's floor/bed/bath we hijacked, and of course to Kev at BSM and Mike at Toddler for having the faith to put our record out.
Sammie, Joseph, Alex and Pearcy xx

New bands have already been formed and from what I've been told, it all sounds quite exciting. So we're looking at this as the tragic ending of one band, but the beginning of two new even more beautiful ones. I suggest you share our enthusiasm

Obviously with the above horrid news still setting in, the first thing on your mind is the well being of the upcoming BSM Christmas Party. Well fret not my children, as we have everything under control. Joe from TNAS will be making a special solo performance under the guise of The Medicine Kiss. Described as "Like Dahsboard. But not. And uglier". It will only be a short set and will include the song lovingly written for yours truly, entitled Everyone's A Fucking Cynic. (thanks Joe).

I've no doubt posted this before but I'm well too lazy to read through all the shit below, so here it is again. If you've read it before then I don't care. It's your time you're wasting

Next years release schedule is already sorted right the way up to... wait for this... august!! 2004 kicks off with lots of lovely vinyl. We have a single from Written From Negative, a split between The Dudley Corporation and Querelle, and also a split between Stories And Comets (ex-MFCP) and Face For Radio. More releases, info and MP3s will be announced soon(ish)

Apologies to anyone who's waiting for me to reply to an email, send a CD to or come round for tea and crumpets. I've been crazy busy recently and I think I may be living proof that 20 year olds really can go senile. It's now got to the stage that I fail to remember to set myself a reminder, to email myself a list of things that i have to remember to do each day. My life is one big vicious circle

10/11/03
Update time again, though it's all quite nice and easy this time around

First thing first, our Christmas party is booked. Tuesday 23rd December will see My Awesome Compilation, The Next Autumn Soundtrack, FogDonkey and The Remarkable Rocket tear down capital city. Or The Vegre if you want a precise location. It's gonna be a damn fine night so if you like you cliched santa suits (£15 that bad boy set me back and I've already lost the fucking hat), free stuff, special guest DJs playing awful music and (wait for it...) the BSM cheerleaders, then you wanna be there. We're just starting to advertise it all now so if you live in or around London and could possibly help out by handing out a few flyers, please get in touch.

Since the last update, John and Dan from MFCP have got their new band up and running and (already!) have a bunch of shows lined up. The band is called Stories And Comets, you can visit their website here. They're recording some demo tracks very soon so hopefully something will be up online for y'all to marvel at in the not too distant future.

FogDonkey finished their tour dates and all went swimmingly. Hopefully they'll be back out on tour in the new year

The Next Autumn Soundtrack and Jeniferever tour got off to a BAD start with van problems and cancelled shows making it a miserable start to a miserable month (Is there a worth month than November? Cold, rain, and constant reminders that Christmas is approaching), but things are going well now and no doubt they're all having a grand time out and about.

Not much else to say really. I could keep bitterly ranting about the weather, or how shit TV is right now, or how my hair goes wavy when it's meant to be straight, or even the fact that I'm hungry. But I won't

27/10/03
Good news and bad news time im afraid ladies and gentlemen.

Unfortunately My Favourite Co-Pilot have called it a day (this is bad news), but new bands are already being formed and the boys will be back out and performing under their new guises asap (this is good news, wahey). The split came as a shock to everyone and they'll be missed greatly. However, this means that there'll be no re-pressing of the CD so one day, probably in a long long time, it'll be worth a fortune on ebay

More good news! Wooooh! The Next Autumn Soundtrack / Jeniferever split CD is here now and is lovely in every way that lovely can be. The two bands are on tour as of November 1st so go check em out, you won't be disappointed...

Yet more good news! To go with the above, our fantastic sampler CD is here as well, and yes, it looks glorious. Eleven tracks spanning our past, present and future, as well as videos from HWG and MAC. It's only two pounds. Yes, two fucking pounds! So you don't really have an excuse for not buying it.

In a general roundup of other news, HWG have released their new single, Cassette, and have just returned from not only their first national headlining tour, but also a high profile showcase gig in New York! Not bad for a bunch of gay heads from Brighton. My Awesome Compilation are still plugging away preparing to release their new CD, having just completed their tour with TNAS. Things are looking very promising for the boys and next year looks set to be a splendid one for them. Every Souvenir is almost sold out now so we're currently considering a re-release next year, in one form or other. Our t-shirts are currently sold out. We'll be getting some new ones when I have some money, not sure if they'll be the same design, or if we'll be clever and get some different ones done. Like all great decisions, it will be made after many hours of drinking.

14/09/03
Two updates in one month?!

We've got a sampler CD on the way. It was a decision I made randomly and have now opted to rush it through so it'll be ready in time for the october tours (see below). It's a nice little CD featuring eleven audio tracks and two videos, all in a cardboard sleeve, lovingly designed by myself. All the details of the CD are here.

Not much else to say really. Erm, the Hiding With Girls video came into the scuzz chart at number four last week making it the highest new entry, above Thursday, Thrice and god knows who else. So raise your glasses to HWG.

Oh yeah, listen to Christiansen. They may have the hair of cock rock heroes but their band is amazing and their new album will beat the face off everything else. Ever.

06/09/03

Our first four way split release is now confirmed! It will feature two tracks each from The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, The Dudley Corporation, J*R and Written From Negative. It will be out around December time and is going to be magic. Check the band pages for MP3s and a few vague details on the bands.

Not so much BSM related anymore but the Hiding With Girls video for their new single 'cassette' is now up on Scuzz (that cable channel thing) so go vote for that and marvel at their pretty faces.

We're hoping to book a BSM christmas party. Bands, free stuff, merriment, tacky decorations, cliche santa suits and the BSM cheerleaders. What else could you ask for?!

26/07/03
So many changes. Oh so many changes.

Keeping this as brief as possible (BSM works on a strict need to know basis didnt't you know?) we've had a few issues with The Next Autumn Soundtrack release. Due to a combination of the studio screwing up the mastering, problems with artwork and a tight deadline for getting it ready to take on the road, 'A Step By Step Guide: Sincerity' has been put on hold. However, it's not all bad news. Three tracks from the intended CD will now be unleashed under a different guise...

October will see the release of The Next Autumn Soundtrack / Jeniferever split. It will feature around 12 minutes of audio from each band (three TNAS tracks and one giant Jeniferever one) and will be available on CD through BSM and limited coloured 12" vinyl through Toddler Records. Tracks are recorded and the artwork currently being finished off. Unfortunately it won't be ready in time for TNAS' tour with The Killerest Expression in August, although it will be here for their tour with My Awesome Compilation and My Favourite Co-Pilot in October, and of course the TNAS/Jeniferever UK tour in November. So that's all nice and gravy.

Clearly getting into the spirit of the split release idea, we're in the middle of confirming one or two more, set for release nearer the end of the year. The first one will feature two UK and two overseas bands and will be jazz to say the least. More details on that bad boy very soon.

Not a lot more to say really. Erm, Fogdonkey are still waiting to get back into the studio to round off the recording process of their upcoming single. It'll be out in October, just in time for their "Boomerama" tour with My Awesome Compilation.

BSM old boys, Centre Negative, are back and trying their hardest to pull their smelly fingers out of their even smellier arses right now. After a long time of not even practicing they're getting back into the swing of things and will soon be playing live again.

That's about it for now.

05/07/03
Quick update on some stuff...

My Favourite Co-Pilot and Emotive Exposed CDs will be available very very soon. Obviously they're both amazing. The Next Autumn Soundtrack's 'A Step By Step Guide: Sincerity' will follow very soon after. Again, its rules. Buy em securely online, at shows and in selected shops nationwide. More on that soon...

My Awesome Compilation have done a video for their track 'Our Lives: The Sequel' Download it here. It was lovingly recorded by some people who are Paranoid About Hats. We're hoping to work with them again in the future so look out for that.

In substantially more menial news, we have some new badges on the way. Yes Yes.

19/06/03
So it's been another month. Fantastic. Don't you find time goes to quickly these days? But anyway, got a few updates so I'll get on with it...

We have a new band. The lovely Fogdonkey have sold their soles to the empire. They're one of us now. So please take a moment to welcome them with open arms, hearts and most importantly, ears. Check out their band page for a 10 second biography and MP3. Their CD will be out in september and, like everything we do, will rule the world.

My Favourite Co-Pilot have recorded their new single, When All Your Hopes Fall. It's away being pressed at the moment and will be available from shows very soon. As ever, they have a butt-load of dates coming up. There is no excuse in the world which will keep you away from seeing this band live. Accept it, and enjoy it.

The Next Autumn Soundtrack are in the studio next weekend recording A Guide To Sincerity EP. Feels like we've been waiting for this one for ages and the anticipation seems to have spread far and wide already. This is gonna be one of THE releases of the summer for all you arty pretentious types. And me.

Through Silence are still out and about on the Evolution tour. Playing with the likes of Skindred, Johnny Truant and god knows who else every night of the week. It's alright for some.

Hiding With Girls and My Awesome Compilation have both been busy recording/getting set to record (yay), unfortunately both are for other labels (boo). HWG will release the amazing Cassette as a single in august on Fuzzbox records. MAC will be releasing a new, as yet untitled EP on Bravestar records sometime this autumn. They're jetting off to California (bastards) on wednesday to record it at Big Fish Studios and will be a damn fine CD I'm sure. They're even spending a couple of nights occupying the floor of none other than Rich, the owner of Drive-Thru Records floor! Obviously the stories of bra wearing and narnia searching haven't crossed the Atlantic. Yet. Best of luck and all that bollocks to both bands with their new releases.

Struggling for more things to say now. Lalala. Guess that's it then.

21/05/03
As you can no doubt see, this is a brand new site. All shiny and lovely. Apart from that nothing else much has happened so I've copied the most recent news below, incase you've become oblivious to what's been going on of recent. Have fun.

12/05/03
Big update time. There's a whole buttload of gigs coming up for all the bands so I've had to list them all on a separate page. Click here to see em all. It'll probably be out of date very soon.

First thing to announce is that we have another new band. My Favourite Co-Pilot enter the studio at the end of this month to record a short EP to be released on July 7th. They're a band we've been wanting to work with since the days of Who Ate Tim? so I'm very pleased to finally have this one confirmed. They're playing pretty much every day of the week over the summer and are well worth checking out. Have a look at their website where you'll find some MP3s.

Hiding With Girls have a couple of nice announcements. First off they've been confirmed to support The Reunion Show on their UK tour in June, and they've also been confirmed to support the mighty Cave-In at the London ULU on May 14th. Check the gig page for more on those.

My Awesome Compilation have possibly the best news of recent and that is that they'll be flying over to California in July to record a new EP at Big fish Studios (Blink 182, Finch). The CD will be released through Bravestar Records nearer the end of the summer. Some bad news though is that their Oxford date, this Thursday, has been cancelled. So if you were planning on going, don't.

Through Silence are out on tour a hell of a lot over the next couple of months. Playing the Evolution tour with some amazing bands including Skindred and Mahumodo. Once again, gig page holds the details.

Think that pretty much covers everything.

20/04/03
Another quick update... We now (finally) have a BSM t-shirt available to buy! There's been a few requests recently so, here you go. Just one design, in one size and one colour available so far. Well it's a start!
