Dad Rocks!
I'm delighted to announce that Dad Rocks!, the solo project from Mimas vocalist Snĉvar Njáll Albertsson, will be joining the BSM family. Combining influences such as Owen and Why? with his own unique lyrical stylings to create this interesting and compelling sound, we'll be releasing the debut EP, 'Digital Age', on August 16th. Originally only available in Denmark via Kanel Records, the UK version will include a bonus track and comes packaged in a childlike popup digipak sleeve. It's available to pre-order now via our online store.
Check out the brilliant video for 'Nothing Keeps Up' (which '10 Collection subscribers may remember from a few weeks back) on the Dad Rocks! band page. We'll be announcing a couple of UK shows for October pretty soon, so check back soon for details.

Off The Cuff
Now in its second year, Off The Cuff festival takes place this weekend (23rd - 25th July) at The Flapper in Birmingham and boasts arguably my favourite lineup of the summer with the likes of Pulled Apart By Horses, Tubelord, Adebisi Shank, Tall Ships, Talons, Men, Tellison, Bats, &U&I (ex-Blakfish), Holy State, Shoes And Socks Off, Boat To Row, Hold Your Horse Is, runWALK and so many more appearing live. To celebrate such a great spectacle, we've helped put together the official festival compilation.
The 16 track CD will be available over the three days of the festival for just £5 and strictly limited to 200 copies in popup digipak sleeves, produced by our sister company, ACD/Sleeve. Free Talons single
The first mixes from Talons album are in and sound HUGE! It's already a contender for my album of the year and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. To help fill the gap until then, the band have made a previously unreleased recording available as a free download. Recorded with Tom Woodhead, who also engineered the album, it's named Trevelyan (after Sean Bean's character in Goldeneye, fact fans) and can be found right here... www.musicglue.com/talons
Ahead of the album release in November, the band will have a new CD available exclusively at shows through September. The currently untitled 8 track release features everything they have so far recorded, which shapes up like this...
1. Commiserations Buff Orpington (original demo)
2. The Tragic Decline of Buff Orpington (original demo)
3. The Pearl (from the debut 7")
4. Manatee (7" b-side)
5. Bethlehem (from the sold out And So I Watch You From Afar split single)
6. Anthropods (from the sold out Noumenon split single)
7. Trevelyan (free download, as above)
8. The Pearl (previously unreleased remix)
Keep an eye on www.myspace.com/gotalons for tour dates, which will be announced within the next two weeks.
Hold Your Socks Off
Our new boys Hold Your Horse Is and bearded old-timer (only joking, Toby!) Shoes And Socks Off head out together on a mammoth 28 date tour together in September, following new releases from both in August.
Shoes And Socks Off's new album, the confusingly titled 'Robin Hood Waiter Champion Have-Not', is released on August 9th and can now be pre-ordered from our webstore with an exclusive t-shirt design. Remember that we're posting a video for each track from the record, week by week, leading up to the release. Check it out, as well as their exclusive interview with Toby and a reminder of July's full band dates here.

The 6 track, half an hour long CD is influenced by many previous local heroes including Reuben, Million Dead and Meet Me In St Louis and is their first work for BSM. Preceding the EP is free digital download single, 'You Show Up', now available from their website.
