Formed a few years back, Danish band Mimas quickly established themselves in the Danish underground scene. Following the release of the debut EP 'Hands Will Carry' in 2005 the band played at the Roskilde Festival, the biggest festival in Scandinavia.
The following years were spent perfecting their sound, which moved a little away from the post-rock scene and closer to what they now refer to as "death indie" - having found inspiration in such different bands as Do Make Say Think, Why?, Mogwai and Pavement.
With the help of people such as Morten Bue (Arab Strap, Figurines, Mew, Under byen) they recorded their debut album 'The Worries' in 2008 before signing with respected Oxford label Big Scary Monsters
The band has recently played with bands such as Menomena, Mono, This Town Needs Guns and Why?. They have toured England three times over the last couple of years and have yet another English tour lined up for September 2008 - supporting the release of their long-awaited debut album.
